1st Day of Kindergarten

Jake was so excited this morning! I offered everything under the sun for breakfast this morning and he opted for old cereal! He sure has grown up in the last week or so..He wanted to wear his backpack on his shoulder like the older kids do, he DID NOT want his mom walking him into school this morning. He didn't want to wear his new shoes this morning, nor did he want to brush his teeth! Totally not like my little boy, who usually does everything I say to do in the mornings....He really didn't want anyone to see him take a picture in front of the school- so we had to wait till the buses unloaded the kids before he would stand there- the first picture I took he was standing behind the flag pole....and after I took the picture he said "Don't show anybody that picture!" He was totally embarrassed of his mother today. I didn't think this kinda stuff started till teenage years....He found his seat with his name on it and sat down. I left with tears in my eyes. This did NOT go the way I had dreamed about for the past week. Trying to grow up so fast with me.....guess it is time to let go a little and give him more room to grow!
