Happy Grandparents Day!

For anyone fortunate enough to have grandchildren, and live in the same town with them, many days are grandparents’ day. It is true that older folks (painfully accurate term) find the pint-sized tornadoes taxing drains on their energy, but they always feel a lift to their spirits both in anticipation of the visit, and in remembering every moment, every laugh, every hug. Being a grandparent is all about love, love unmeasured and endless. I was fortunate in having grandparents who were sources of boundless and unconditional love. I am glad that you are doing that for my children as well. Beau and I want to thank-you so much for loving our kids and showing them how special they are. We are so blessed to have each of you in our lives. We love you more than you know!!!!!!

When your a kid, grandparents are the next best thing to a jar full of candy! I was reading the other day about the meaning of Grandparents' Day and really...the overall purpose is to tap the wisdom of our elders, and hand down family values. My Gamie and Pa are gone now, and have been since the mid 80's, but I will never forget what they taught me and the times we shared. I am so fortunate that my children will have those special memories with you as I did mine.

Friday, was Grandparents' Day at Jake's school. I never remember having those when I was a child....but Jake was so excited for them to come. I asked him that night, "did you have a good time with them today at school?".....he said, with such excitement " yes, it was GREAT!" I really have never heard him say something like that before....about anything other than a toy anyway! I asked him, what he thought Grandparents Day was~ what do they mean to you? He said, "grandparents are easy to love because you can count on them no matter what, and because they love me." I know years from now, he will never remember that. But, it was so nice to hear him actually being sweet and nice.....usually he isn't like that.....well he NEVER is like that. Only at bedtime when he is trying to sleep with mommy and daddy!

Here are some pictures of them at school Friday...
