Of course, as in my previous post about his school bus adventure, this time his teacher has perturb me in the manners department. I sent the little "Boo" gift to his teacher a couple weeks ago.....remember the candy jar? Now trying to get information out of a 5 year old boy about anything is hard, what did the teacher say when you gave it to her, did she smile, did she say thank-you, was she happy, did she share the candy with the class, etc. So I never got a Thank-you for her little gift..I was expecting just a little Thank you for the candy dish- it was cute or something in his agenda book....I didn't get anything......I can live with that...sorta!
When your kid starts school, you will see that they give every kinda piece of paper handout in the world home with your kid.....from fundraisers to this and that....well, by Wednesday of last week I had not heard a THING about a Halloween Party~ another thing- everyone knows I wanted to be that perfect PTO mom with the parties and all that. (glad I did NOT sign up for the PTO~ that is another story- but when your in the PTO you have to do all sorts of CRAP!) So I sent a little note in the agenda that said this: "What are your plans for Halloween Celebrations this Friday, Party wise?" I never said Thanks at the end, simple because she never does....her notes if any are always short and to the point.
This is what she wrote back..." 1:15-2:00 Rm, moms are in charge of it."
Now- two days before the little party.....I was like what the heck is that?! WHO AM I???? I am a mom the last time I checked and I was not in charge of anything. Okay- I said forget it, I wont bring nothing to eat for Jake to take to the party......WHATEVER. Well, Friday after school...I asked Jake- how was the party? Did any of your friends mom's show up? He said YES, Ally's mom was there~ Where were you at mom? Thought you were suppose to come? I said, was you upset I wasn't there- he said YES! I said, was it is it your room or was it all the rooms together? He said in our room. So my face at this time was BLOOD RED! So you know what I did, I wrote the teacher a little note in the agenda book:
"Thanks for letting me know more about the party today, Jake was VERY upset that I was not there, and so was I. I really appreciate all the extra info you gave me about the party, like what kind of stuff and food to bring your note really helped me out. Thanks- Mrs. Pinkston" Yes- I put the ole MRS. PINKSTON in there- I felt really really old by doing that!
Today about 8:20am- which is the teachers morning break time- class just started at 7:15 am so she has been doing whatever for an hour and gets a break in the morning already. She then calls my husbands cell phone....and by the way- along with the millions of papers I get home from school I have to list important phone numbers a MILLION times- and she calls beau's cell phone....She asked for me! WHAT AN IDIOT SHE IS- and she is teaching my child? So Beau asked is everything alright with Jake?! She said yes, this is concerning a note she sent me in his agenda. Beau said, Oh okay and gave her the number. Whatever happened to calling HOME NUMBER! Anyway I answered the phone....This is Jodee ( i thought it was work stuff- I was at home today working) Then she started in with her"better than thou attitude" She said, I hope that the note you stated in Jake's agenda was not meant to be as RUDE as I took it. I said, No it was as RUDE as you read it, probable about as RUDE as you not mentioning or saying Thank-you in the agenda about the Boo Gift- not many 5 year old boys would know how to make that. I didn't know if you ever got it or it broke or what happened- again thanks for the info. She rambled on about gifts for a second..then started in again about the party.
