My favorite part about Christmas decorating is the tree! Every year I love getting new ornaments from shopping and from my friends I exchange with....Ornaments are my fav at Christmas time.....something I never get sick of and throw away is an ornament. I take alot of pride in my tree and the special ones I have. I seen today where Tip Junkie was having a Christmas Tree Contest. So I decided what the heck, and entered our tree in the contest.
One of my favorite thing about the tree is my handmade garland. I made this 10 years ago where you take different pieces of fabric and cut them in about 1 inch strips with fabric cutters, then you tie them in a knot on a piece of string...this process is a very long one to do(they have to be so close together then you bunch them up)....hence why I have never updated my garland with different fabrics...In order for this to look good, I had to get alot of different colors of Christmas themes and colors...because from a distance you can't see what it is and if you make it just red and green- it is very hard to see what it really is....so I took pictures close up and from a distance so you could see. Then I have in between the garland rows, some Christmas color beads...just to help space out the garland. The end result is a full looking Christmas trees, I love full trees, so I can't see the trunk of the tree or holes shown...the homemade garland is the perfect touch to our Christmas Tree!
