Broken Collarbone

After our beach vacation, we had a National BMX race in Evansville, IN the July 4th week-end. This was Jakes first National race and we were so excited for him. We got there on Friday and he had 3 pre-races that night and he came in 1st place! So we were pumped for him on Saturday. There was over 150 motos and the races started at 8am....by noon it was Jake's turn for his 1st out of 3 moto races. Mid way thru he was going up a hill and when he landed on the tabletop he leaned to the front and was still on his top wheel when he was going down the hill and flipped over his handlebars and landed hard on the ground, it was over for my boy before it even started, he had broken his collarbone and we were on our way to the hospital. We ended up spending the night again just to let the pain medicine work and get a good nites sleep before the trip back home. He was such brave little boy, he was more upset about his jersey being cut!

Such a hard thing to see, he was in so much pain and I just wanted it to go away.

Now he is back to his old self, pestering his little brother in the doctors office:)
